PACAI- Pathways to Careers in AI, exists to show people that the careers being shaped by AI aren't reserved for engineers and PhDs. Whatever your background - a major, a trade, a decade in another field - there are roles that hire for what you already know, plus a clear path to the new skills you need.
Why PACAI
Most "AI careers" lists assume you're starting from computer science. That leaves out the historians, nurses, designers, accountants, mechanics, teachers, and analysts who will actually use AI day-to-day. PACAI maps your area of expertise to adjacent AI-powered roles and surfaces live job board searches so you can see real openings, not abstractions.

Built by a career coach
PACAI was started by Olufemi Fagun, a University of Connecticut-trained career coach and student affairs practitioner. The work draws on years of helping students rewrite resumes, cover letters, and interview stories, designing workshops, and advising programs that center equity and inclusion. It also reflects ongoing research into how AI is reshaping career services and the job market.
The goal is simple: make AI-adjacent career paths feel reachable from any background, not just engineering.
